Mat Pilates is a series of strengthening and conditioning exercises that concentrate on building strength, improving body alignment and posture, restoring muscular balance and improving mobility and flexibility. Some benefits of practicing Pilates include improved posture, better coordination and balance, increased lung capacity, improved concentration and focus, increased body awareness, stress management and injury prevention.
This class will consist of pre-Pilates exercises and exercises in the classical Pilates mat repertoire. Modifications will be provided to decrease or increase the level of challenge.
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in. Please bring a mat, water and 1 hand towel. We will be getting up and down off of the ground, so please ensure you are able to do this easily.
